The difference between internal and external IP addresses?

Hello,

I'm working on configuring my router for World of Warcraft and other things like my game consoles, and before I mess anything up, I am wanting to make sure I understand the difference between an internal and external IP address.

From what I looked up, your internal IP addresses are specific to things connected to your router, such as a computer, console, tablet, cell phone, etc. and the external IP address is the one assigned to the router that you type into the search bar of a browser when you are wanting to configure the router itself. Does this sound correct? If not, what am I getting wrong?

Thank you.

Get internal and external IP addresses in Unity 2018.2.0?

Unity 2018.2.0 makes the Network class obsolete. boot from external instead of internal disk?

My hard drive just crashed. I can however use my external drive to boot the system. Make external speakers and internal speakers work together?

Working on a new iMac. I use M-Audio AV-40 monitors, which attach easily by plugging them into the iMac’s audio out port. But plugging in the speakers shuts off the internal speakers. Is there a setting to keep both on, so that if I turn the speakers off while they’re plugged in, I can still hear the sound from the internal speakers? Would a 3.5mm stereo mini female to USB 3 or USB-C allow both the internal and external speakers to work together or separately? What's the best way to get... ...

Internal Address working via VPN but external not

My problem is the external ip address of 17.25.17.98 (fake address) will not route to my internal address of 10.0.0.4 and ultimately to the moodle site I am setting up. How to force a Thinkpad to draw charge from internal vs external battery?

My T450s Thinkpad has two batteries--one external and hot-swappable, and one internal. When not plugged in, the external battery provides charge until it hits a 5% low water mark, at which point the laptop starts using the internal battery. What I want: with the laptop not plugged in (1) to control from Debian Linux which battery gets used when both happen to have plenty of charge (being intentionally vague here), and (2) to set whichever low water mark I want for the automatic switchover to th...
