Experian credit score

Hi I cleared all my credit cards last month and tried to open a new bank account but got rejected due to my Experian score the bank said.

Experian is still showing I owe about Ten grand in credit cards even though I don’t. Will next months report show me in improving. Right now I have about 30k in savings/bank balance and no debt at all yet Experian score is 496 and marked as very poor ???

How can I improve this quicker and will it improve now all my credit cards are cleared ??

Thanks

985 Experian score yet refused credit card???

Hi everyone Hopefully someone can shed some light on this rather baffling situation. I have a free experian account and can see my score is 985, no further info available on there so have just attempted to sign up via the MSE Credit Club...got as far as Step 2 and it said i couldn't go any further as my identity could not be confirmed. I checked all the details entered and eveything was spot on, full name, all previous addresses etc. I'm wondering whether this identity issue has led to me...

0 credit score on experian

Hi, Just logged into my Experian credit report, I have a score of 0 out of 999. I didn't even think this was possible all my personal details are correct. I am in an IVA with creditfix which doesn't show on my report, rather than all the old debts I have and a few which have since defaulted. I have been paying this IVA for 2 years now without bother, So I checked this out of curiosity and was almost sick when I seen this, I am preventing me and my wife buying a home and this is a real blow to...

How to View Your Credit Report and Credit Score for Free

About every few months, you hear of another enormous data breach of a large financial company and how you should check your credit reports carefully to make sure nothing is amiss. These days, you’re apparently not even safe if you add fraud alerts to your credit report or freeze it entirely. Some of the security practices at these credit agencies is so bad that they can still be hacked even after a previous hack. So your best bet is to keep an eye on your own credit reports and scores and ...

What credit card to improve Experian report

Hey people, Firstly excuse me if this question is in the wrong place or if it’s already been asked before. I just signed up to ask this question as I couldn’t find the answer. So I bank with Nationwide these days with no overdraft (after I defalted with RBS a few years ago), I have a loan out with a credit union which I’ve been paying back in time and one credit card which I’ve been using responsibly. My bank account and loan appear on both my Experian and Eqifax (which I get via ClearScore) a...

IVA not on Credit Score

Hi, My husband and I are coming to the end of year 5 of our IVA. We have to pay an extra 12months as we couldn't release equity from our mortgage - all fine and expected. I've seen a few posts saying once you've finished your IVA to check a credit score website as often creditors don't always remove files etc. So out of curiosity myself and my husband signed up to check it out on Experian. My credit rating was "very poor". Shows a couple of creditors that I'll probably have to chase ...

credit score correction/improvement

Thumb Score: 0 Dear Friends, During the end of last year, i had a late payment for one of my credit card. The amount pending was $25 and the reason i forget to pay is - the card stopped working due to chip issues, so i kept the card out of my wallet and forget about it, which lead to late payment. However, this affected my score badly, around 150 points dropped. When i settled the $25 with credit card, they assured, it wont affect my score however it is not actually. Now, how do i fix it. This...

Pay Day Loans and Credit Score Help

Hi just popping on here for a bit of advice. Not sure if this should be on this board as it more about credit rating or on the mortgage board sorry. Me and my husband are saving for a house at the moment. We both have a Lifetime ISA and will be looking to buy in July (due to the 25% bonus you get with a lifetime isa). We are both first time buyers and are top budget is 120k and we will have a 10% deposit. That's just a little background info but am a little bit worried as when I was reading ...

Credit score dropped. Now what?

I opened a Chase Freedom Unlimited as soon as I dropped below 5/24, so that I could start earning 1.5 points for everything. Soon after I got the card, I made a couple of large purchases that nearly maxed out the $15,000 credit line. I considered paying them off immediately (before the statement date), but figured Chase would think that's suspicious, so I refrained. (The purchases were not MS or illegitimate in any way.) Now, after the closing date, I'm surprised to find that my credit score has...

Experian Credit Expert New Format

I really hope I can get some help or information fromanyone on here :) I’ve had an absolute nightmare with Experian, with my credit expert subscription. The advisors at the company have told me they have changed the format of the report, for 20% of new customers and will not change it back for the foreseeable future. My financial advisor won’t accept the new report because the information on it isn’t clear. I have taken this to the financial ombudsmen but I really want to know if this whole n...

New credit has lowered my credit score

Hello all I have recently taken out car finance (of around £25,000) - I previously had car finance of around £7000. Other than that I have no long-term debt and my only other short term debt amounts to £1,000. Before I took out the car finance I had a "good" credit score, and now after taking out the finance it has dropped to the higher end of "poor". Will this right itself soon and is it only because its new and a hard credit check has just been done??? I have never ...

CCJ & My Credit Score

Hi all, I’m a 28 year old male and looking to improve my credit score / credit rating so I’ll be able to move out to my own place in a year or two. My credit score is 483 and my credit rating according to Noodle is 1/5. This is because I have had a large number of payday loans, unpaid phone bills, been overdrawn on a number of occasions from the age of 18. According to Noodle I now owe £2600 which I could easily pay off within 2 months as I earn around that amount in 1 month after tax. I have al...
