Main Cabin Extra pricing

I apologize if this has been previously discussed. Does anyone have insight to share on the pricing model for MCE seating? I recently found an incredible $324 deal with flights from ORD-CLT-MUC and back next April. The TATL leg is on a A330 so happy to have a section of two with no middle seats. Although CLT-MUC isn't a terribly long flight, the thought of MCE seating is nice. When I originally booked the tickets in late October, MCE seats were priced at ~$170 (but luckily I could reserve 29A-B at no charge). As of this morning, MCE pricing has dropped to $121 per seat. Is there an "average" price for MCE on TATL flights? Should I expect prices to stay consistent, possibly drop more, or even increase depending on demand? I've directed most of my flight to *A partners so don't have much experience with AA's MCE. I'm taking another trip to HEL via LHR in August and am contemplating the same issue - jump now or hold. Thanks in advance for any advice/information!

Middle bulkhead main cabin extra vs standard aisle

I need some advice please. I’m flying on an A330-300 CLT to FCO this week. I paid for main cabin extra - row 8 middle seat (bulkhead) but am not second guessing myself. I’m a big guy and need extra space for the tray table. I’m worried that the armrest tray table won’t be big enough for me to use it comfortably. I can use a tray table in a regular seat just fine. Also - I can’t tell if there’s enough legroom for me to get out of my seat without the person on the aisle getting up first. Also wo...

Main Cabin Extra

Im flying a BA flight on AA metal from LHR to LAX. Would the AA "Main cabin extras" upgrades be available to me via AA, or would I have to do this through BA?...

Platinum Main Cabin Extra Upgrades International vs Sapphire Upgrades

I'm looking to book an award flight to Asia. I would normally try and take JAL or CX across the Pacific but since I'm Platinum, it looks like I get MCE automatically. I just priced an award ticket to HKG and was able to put in MCE seats. I'm not sure anyone has done an analysis of how MCE compares to Biz, but seems like a nice sweet spot for half the points. Obviously its far from Biz. What would be the comparison between MCE and CX/JAL coach? As a Sapphire do we get any upgrade to JAL/CX &quo...

Main Cabin Extra (MCE) or Premium Economy - recent change?

Hi folks, I'm travelling to the US with AA, as an OWE last time I was able to select an MCE seat in the front smaller cabin on the 777-300ER. Now though it looks like this is branded as a separate "Premium Economy" cabin, rather than the ususal MCE cabin last time I flew with them. Has this changed recently or am I missing something? Thanks!...

Main Cabin Extra seats $$?

Ok, I'm trying to figure out what's going on here. I'm Alaska MVP and burned up some miles on AA metal. Alaska provides both AA PNR and and AS PNR. So using the AA PNR, I went into the seat selection and I was able to select Main Cabin Extra seats for free...then I go back and now the seats are showing their prices. Sometimes I go back to change seats and the prices disappear! This is definitely some odd glitch. I've already selected a MCE seat though was never asked to pay for it. What's the od...

Better chances of getting upgraded to Delta One from the Main Cabin than Comfort?

I was upgraded to Delta One twice on a HND-LAX flight last year, and both times I had stayed in the Main Cabin rather than take the Delta Comfort upgrade. I would be notified of the upgrade when going through the gate, and they would give me a slip of paper with my new seat printed on it. The Delta App showed that my seat had changed. Every time I've taken the Comfort class upgrade on the same flight, I have not been upgraded to Delta One, even when it looked like it was available. Could it be ...

Detroit to Miami or Vice Versa $142 RT Main Cabin Nonstop on American (Very Few Dates Aug-Sept)

Thumb Score: 0 This is probably good if you're catching a cruise out of Miami. American Airlines have round trip airfares travelling to and from Detroit (DTW) and Miami (MIA) for $142, nonstop. Success (or Not) Upgrade Main Cabin / MCE to Premium Economy; How, Details

Though AA has no current clear upgrade path from Main Cabin or Main Cabin Extra to Premium Economy (most likely forthcoming once PE is rolled out to every AA widebody aircraft), there has been discussion of upgrade success, etc. from the Main Cabin to Premium Economy. Please share your MC/MCE to PE upgrade success (or unsuccessful attempt to do so) here, including your status, method of upgrade (op up, online seat map choice, 500 mile “stickers” / Unlimited Domestic Upgrade, LFBU / Load Factor...

What determines if Main Cabin reservation can select a C+ seat for additional cost?

I am currently booked in Main Cabin on a flight to Europe later this year. Up until ~10 days ago I had the option of choosing a C+ seat for ~$150 (!) under manage my booking, but I no longer have that option. I checked the seat map while making a dummy booking and there are still a few C+ seats available on the flight, although not as many as when I had the option to choose from my booking. Does anyone know how Delta determines when any main cabin purchased fares can and can't pay for a C+ seat...

Wrong name on First Class Ticket...new main cabin booking...can I get the First seat?

I've got a weird one here...I messed up a paid ticket by booking a First Class seat on AA1667 for my wife, but I got the name wrong. The ticket has my surname, but my wife never took my surname. I called Amex (who I booked the ticket through) and they said I can't change it (major change, not minor change), and that it was non refundable so it is a complete loss. The good news is that I was able to make an Aadvantage redemption in the main cabin on the same flight. So for not much extra money, ...

Speakers Small with Crossover vs Speakers Large with LFE+Main/Extra Bass/Double Bass

We all know the coveted HT rule: Set your speakers as small/limited range with a 80-100Hz crossover, even if you have tower speakers, spare your amp and speakers the extra work, and let your sub take care of the lows. Here's my thing...what do you tell the person who's a "purist" and only runs 2.0 audio? That he HAS to get a subwoofer? Likewise, what do you tell someone who has a stereo amp with a sub pre-out? No stereo amps, if not very few, have an internal crossover for the mains....

Booked main cabin with seat assignment; checked in and now am on standby

(Usually I fly delta a couple times per year, I'm now FO with a status match challenge, and I'm still new to dealing with DL upgrades/standby/etc. Apologies if these questions are all common knowledge!) I have a flight tomorrow, DCA-SLC, with an onward connection. I bought a main cabin fare and selected my seat assignment over a month ago, and made a seat change 2 days ago for the DCA-SLC flight. Come to checkin time, the automated "time to checkin"email says to get a seat assignment ...

VS Main Cabin Select -> AS Premium Class #crap

I used to fly VS all the time in Main Cabin Select, and thought it would be similar on AS post-merger. OOPS. It's now called Premium Class, and AS decided to TAKE AWAY: 1) access to the priority security lane 2) free snacks (though drinks are still free) But they decided to keep the following perks: 1) required use of the bathroom in the BACK of the plane, even though you're in row 3 2) no storage under seat (personal item goes in the overhead) Yay merger...
