Vegetarian meals in J ZRH-ATH-ZRH

I found one post that describes ein richtiges Mittagessen for the 14:00 departure ZRH-ATH. What about the 10:50 departure? And will there be a vegetarian option? I called to request veg meals for USA-ZRH-ATH and for a different intra-European flight. They said "ok confirmed" for the first part, but that it's not possible for intra-european flights. It occurs to me now that I don't know if the agent actually booked a veg meal for the ZRH-ATH part, or just the USA-ZRH part. Anyone have experience with this? Is ZRH-ATH (1000 miles) considered long haul, so the standard intra-European meal rules don't apply?

ATH-ZRH is early in the morning, so I'm less concerned that there won't be enough veg food on the tray to make a breakfast.

Meat Traces in Vegetarian Meals

I saw this earlier: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-44421642 I don't eat meat although my wife does. I'm therefore reasonable about any slight cross contamination that might occur in our smallish kitchen at home. I do expect better from commercial enterprises though. Although I may be somewhat flexible about this, if someone was very strictly vegetarian or vegan, I can appreciate their likely disgust and horror. That's my views, so over to you .... Apologies for spelling mistakes, courtesy of...

680 TP run from ZRH ideas

Looks like I will be (with currently booked and predicted travel) 680 TP short of the GGL 5,000 point threshold by my year end (8 Mar). Any ideas on a cost and time efficient TP run starting and ending in ZRH to get me over the line? Alternative to time efficiency: Something that involves spending a working week-ish in/near SFO/SJC....

Ex-ZRH to BKK and ICN in April - best approach for deal with flexible dates?

Hi all I'd like to get the FTers' advice on how to approach flying from ZRH to BKK and ICN in April. Earliest leaving ZRH is 6 April and latest arriving ZRH is 21 April. Trip can be shorter and flexible on order and duration for how long we stay in BKK, ICN. Right now best I can find is here on Korean Air the entire way. I'm wondering if there is a better way to approach this. I have 90k UR points and 150k M&M. This would be for two people. Both travelers are M&M Silver. Looking for ...

Why are flights out of ZRH in J to North America suddenly much cheaper?

Flights to North America from ZRH were always notoriously expensive for a paid ticket, always 3000 CHF plus (USD is almost 1:1 with CHF at the moment). I checked today again some flights on Google flights and prices are way down. Dates don't even matter, search for flights out of ZRH to NYC, SFO, LAX, ORD etc...they are cut in half. Not only on Swiss, also on Lufthansa and many other Star Alliance carriers (United, Air Canada) and even non Star Alliance carriers (Delta, KLM etc...). It's the sam...

Vegetarian meals in J on Asiana

I have done a search but didn't turn up any recent threads about the prevalence of vegetarian food on Asiana J. My wife and I will be flying from ICN to SFO in October (final leg of a round trip to Nepal) Does Asiana usually have 1 option that is vegetarian on their menu or is it better to pre-order the hindu vegetarian option? Thanks!...

character meals question

i've looked through the threads in the forum, but i'm still somewhat confused about available character meals. i'm interested in information regarding breakfast, lunch and dinner, but probably lunch is the one we're most likely to do, if available. Though all 3 are possible. Our first choice would be the classic characters: Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, etc. Second choice are the princesses. We'll probably do both if we can work it into the schedule. So i guess what...

9.30 am transatlantic departure - meals?

I've searched the BA website to no avail trying to find the answer to this so apologies if I've missed it. I can find menus for LH Club World flights however can anyone tell me if on a 9.30 departure from LGW (destination TPA) will the first meal be served be of a breakfast nature? I'm more used to 11.30 or later LH departures where a "normal" meal is served however unsure if a 9.30 departure takes it back to a breakfast offering. Thanks...

Recommendations for one TS meal, CS meals for diverse needs, plus food payment strategies

We are headed to DL for our first, and quite possibly our only, trip in August of this year. I know the 60 day window for making dining reservations is fast approaching. We plan on bringing breakfast and snack stuff, so we can do breakfast in our room and carry snacks in the parks to avoid "hangry" moments. We plan on doing CS meals for lunch and dinner. However, I'd like to do one TS meal while we are there. Here's the scoop on my family...I'm traveling with DH, DS16...
