Why won't my LG V20 register ATT network but it will register T mobile?

I just purchased a LG V20 on Ebay. It says it is unlocked ATT phone. I have Net10 which uses other carriers towers for network. My SIM is ATT compatable. It will not register network connection at all when in the V20. If I put a Tmobile SIM in the phone it will actually register it. I even had Net10 send me a Tmobile SIM and it worked fine other than I get like no service with Tmobile. So I ordered a new ATT SIM. Put it in the phone and nothing. What is the deal. Should I be trying to send this ...

OS X network service order doesn't stick

Under System Preferences -> Network -> Set Service Order... (OS X 10.9.4) I changed the order for the configured network services to my desires. However, every time my 3G modem connects to the internet it is set as the first service and the order is reverted. (I experience something similar with a VPN service.) This is really annoying since I have a limited data plan on my 3G modem and do not want to use it if a wireless network is available. How can I make the service order stay as I co...

How can I restart on a schedule, if network users are connected?

I want to schedule a nightly restart of my OSX media server, but I routinely have other machines in the house connected to this machine remotely (since it's also our TimeMachine system, iTunes library, etc.) It's trivial to set a scheduled restart, but it always fails if other users are connected, which in my case they always are. How can I schedule a nightly restart of this machine, that will automatically kick any connected users, quit all apps, and restart? Also, what effect will this have...

Network is disabled every time I reboot Ubuntu 16.04 LTS webserver

Every time I boot up the server I have to go into recovery mode and enable networking for the server to be connected to internet. If I don't enable network in recovery mode I get this output when I run: sudo lshw -numeric -C network I get this output: *-network DISABLED description: Ethernet interface product: RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller [10EC:8168] vendor: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Parallel HTTP connections with a single network interface confusion [on hold]

I'm taking a computer networking course, and we are learning about HTTP. I feel like I understand it relatively well, but I don't understand this question: "Given that most computers have a single network interface that can only transmit or receive bytes of data from one connection at a time (i.e. there is no true parallel transmission or reception), why is the use of parallel HTTP connections a good idea?" I've done multiple examples, and clearly, parallel connections makes the time it takes ...

Connect to wireless network on different subnet

I have a lift motor that has an app that allows me to move the lift up and down. The lift creates its on Wi-Fi network with a default gateway of 192.168.4.1 My existing network is 192.168.1.1, I have a nano station that is not being used and was hoping there was a way to bridge these two networks. I have very limited access to change any settings in the router that is made into the lift motor. If this is possible it would be great if the nano station could receive a wireless signal from the .1 n...

Home router to interconnect network

is it possible to use a home router to interconnect two or more router? After a mistake I had some devices on 192.168.1.0/24 and others on 192.168.10.0/24. Obviously they don't communicate, because a need a router to interconnect them. Is this correct? I wonder if I can use a home router to get them communicate. Thanks...

backup MSSQL database to a client's local disk over network

I'm trying to backup a MSSQL server from linux. I'm able to connect to the server using tsql (from the freetds project), and I'm even able to backup the database on the server using the backup database command, but I haven't been able to download this backup onto the machine I'm using to connect to the MSSQL server. If this was a mySQL server, I could download a backup of the database using mysqldump. Is there something similar I can do for an MSSQL server in linux?...

Creating Network Interface (or get right BSP) - Yocto Project

I've used Yocto Generic x86_64 to boot up my board with Intel Xeon D 1500 family processor. On Yocto's website, I don't see any BSP for this processor (or any eval platform). After boot up, I couldn't find any network interface (other than lo and sit for 6to4). I don't need the 6to4 (or sit) interface, but instead need an external network interface for common IP functions. How do I do that? In the past, I'd dealt with other OSs, e.g. QNX. It came as part of a BSP. Network interfaces were creat...

Upgraded Stretch->Buster, lost network. How to set up simple DHCP connection?

Standalone desktop, initial installation was a long time ago (Wheezy or Jessie), and I've been upgrading with apt since then, without problems. After upgrading to Buster, some programs broke due to missing libraries - and worst of all, there was no network up, on reboot. I had been using a cable modem, with dhcp - nothing fancy. It had always "worked" so I didn't look into how it was working. Now, I'm completely lost as to the best way to set it up. Manually running "ifconfig et...

Inability to Connect to Network and USB device Failure

I lost connection to the Internet and to my home network and have since been unable to reconnect. My computer was the only one in the house that was affected. I am connected directly to the modem via Ethernet. Simultaneously, Windows gave a warning that an unknown USB device failed. All devices connected to USB ports are functioning normarlly. I do not have a WiFi transceiver connected to a......

Unable to Delete Network Adapter in Windows 10?

Recently, I uninstalled some VPN software off my system because I was no longer using it, but the virtual network adapter created by the software didn’t get removed automatically. When I tried to delete the network adapter from the list of adapters, the delete option was greyed out. After quite a bit of troubleshooting, I was finally able to remove the network adapter from my Windows 10 system. In this article, I’ll mention all the different methods you can try, starting from the eas...

Should I write integration test that tests my code with real-network servers, before I start writing my code?

I am trying to write integration tests for a client-server app. The client app, runs on a users machine and connects to the server app running on network-serverA. The server app runs on a specific windows server (network-serverA), and also accesses files on a different network server, network-serverB.. In the post (https://softwareengineering.stackexchange.com/a/348245/282617), the author mentions that integration tests are more important than writing unit-tests. Further, in the book Code Compl...
